ICF’s GEO/RAD project is transforming how geospatial data, infrastructure, and analytics support decision-making across Puerto Rico. We are seeking a Technical Editor to help shape and communicate GEO/RAD’s story, translating complex geospatial and data integration work into clear, compelling, and accessible content for technical and non-technical audiences alike. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong command of written communication, and the ability to maintain consistency across diverse documentation supporting enterprise GIS, infrastructure modernization, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage all project-related documentation, supporting technical leads and staff to provide guidance and understand requirements.
Edit, proofread, and format project deliverables—including technical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), data management plans, invoices, and communication materials.
Review content and publications for content, grammar, syntax, and formatting that align with established agency style guides.
Support the preparation and publication of materials for government and public audiences, including web content, newsletters, and digital dashboards.
Ensure document consistency and traceability across deliverables and reporting mechanisms.
Maintain templates, glossaries, and writing standards to promote consistency across all task areas.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in writing/editing.
Experience reviewing and editing varied work products, including items written by other team members.
Exceptional writing, grammar, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, PowerPoint) and comfort working within collaborative document management systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines across a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting GIS, IT, or infrastructure projects, particularly within government programs.
Demonstrated ability to translate technical content into accessible narratives for diverse audiences.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills with a customer-service orientation.
Prior experience editing materials for programs focused on resilience, data modernization, or environmental management.
