Internship Program Manager

Hudson Institute seeks an internship program manager to coordinate all of aspects of Hudson Institute’s internship program. The internship program manager will serve as the primary liaison between Hudson's research staff and interns, creating an environment where interns gain experience in foreign and domestic policy research while supporting the Institute's work. The role provides visibility into think tank operations; direct interaction with policy experts; and the opportunity to recruit and work with emerging policy professionals. This is a full-time position based in Hudson's Washington, DC office, reporting to the director of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and manages Hudson's internship program for cohorts each spring, summer, and fall.
  • Prepares and posts internship opportunities across relevant platforms and channels.
  • Screens applications and conducts interviews with prospective intern candidates.
  • Collaborates with Hudson supervisors throughout the hiring and selection process.
  • Leads comprehensive onboarding process for new interns joining Hudson Institute.
  • Plans and manages internship program activities, including expert roundtables, professional development workshops, and government building tours.
  • Provides ongoing guidance, mentorship, and support to interns throughout their tenure.
  • Maintains and manages personnel files and documentation for all program interns.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from background investigators regarding intern candidates and participants.
  • Assists the director of operations with various projects involving administrative support for Hudson’s staff.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in public policy and Hudson’s research areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Technologically savvy.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including professional and tactful demeanor.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with others—including Hudson’s senior management, experts, and staff.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity and the utmost professionalism.
