Pharmacist – Retail / Community

Location: Fargo, ND

Schedule: Full Time | Varying Shifts | 40 hours/week

Starting Rate: $53.00 – $87.50/hour, based on experience

We are seeking a Pharmacist to join a leading not-for-profit healthcare system serving communities across the Midwest. This position will be based in retail/community pharmacy settings at two key locations in Fargo.

In this role, you will provide safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of prescription and non-prescription medications, offer guidance to patients and providers on drug therapy, and ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations. You will also serve as a clinical resource for pharmacy technicians and support staff, contributing to an exceptional patient care experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy, needed ingredients, and clinical appropriateness.
• Advise providers on medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Counsel patients on medication use, administration, side effects, storage, and expected results.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust drug therapy as appropriate.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy support personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and standards.
• In institutional settings, interpret provider orders, manage unit dose dispensing, IV admixtures, compounding, and automated dispensing systems.
• Support decentralized clinical functions such as interdisciplinary rounding, chart reviews, and medication reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug actions, and applicable regulations.
• Hospital or residency experience preferred (for institutional roles).
• Current pharmacist license in good standing from the state board of pharmacy, with multi-state privileges as required.
