Retail Dining Operations Manager – Healthcare

Location: New Haven, CT

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some weekends as needed

Compensation: Based on experience + comprehensive benefits

We are seeking an experienced Retail Dining Operations Manager to oversee high-volume retail food operations at a major healthcare campus. This role is responsible for managing multiple dining venues, leading a team of three retail managers, and directing approximately 30 unionized frontline employees. The position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient, staff, and visitor satisfaction in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations for multiple retail dining locations.
• Develop and implement retail menus, promotions, and limited-time offers to drive sales.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling policies, POS systems, and financial controls.
• Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive revenue growth.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to financial targets.
• Build strong relationships with hospital leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure the highest standards of food safety, guest experience, labor management, and technology integration.
• Lead, train, and engage a diverse union workforce for operational excellence.
• Use data and analytics to optimize labor, performance, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of union management experience.
• 3+ years in retail dining operations, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Experience in a director-level or equivalent leadership role in healthcare, hospitality, or large-scale food service.
• Strong background in labor management, POS systems, cash handling, and food safety.
• Demonstrated success in increasing top-line revenue using data-driven decision making.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
