Customer Success Manager - job 1 of 2

GitLab is an open-core, AI-powered DevSecOps platform used by hundreds of thousands of organizations to accelerate software delivery. The Customer Success Manager will act as a strategic advisor to assigned customers, driving adoption, measurable outcomes, and advocacy by providing deployment guidance, best practices, workshops, and data-driven recommendations.

Skills

  • Proven customer advocacy and post-sales engagement experience
  • Practical knowledge of Git and common branching strategies
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and pipelines
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts and tooling
  • Strong data-driven mindset to translate usage into recommendations
  • Workshop facilitation and executive communication skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and remote relationships

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted, strategic-advisor relationships with assigned customers to drive ongoing value and advocacy
  • Provide expert guidance on deployment, operational best practices, and help customers establish a GitLab Center of Excellence
  • Plan and lead workshops to help customers maximize value from the GitLab platform
  • Measure and monitor customer KPIs and report progress internally and to customer executives
  • Translate product usage and telemetry into actionable advice and adoption plans
  • Establish and maintain regular touchpoints per SLAs to review strategic and technical objectives and progress
  • Liaise across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Professional Services to remove blockers and accelerate outcomes

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certifications or continuous learning in DevOps/DevSecOps (preferred)
