Ferguson is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Market Distribution Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, that will serve the DC market. If you have familiarity and experience in warehouse management, order fulfillment, inventory control, process management, work-shift coordination, and are organized with great people skills, this is the position for you! This position entails leading all aspects of a 360,000 square foot distribution center with 100+ hourly warehouse associates.
The Upper Marlboro Market Distribution Center is a new build / greenfield site that will be opening the beginning of 2026!

Responsible for the operational functions of the Distribution Center
Lead projects as directed by the General Manager
Responsible for developing and directing Department Managers leaders
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with all customers to drive service level improvements throughout the operation
Continuous review, evaluation, and audit of operational procedures and performance KPIs with the purpose of identifying areas for improvement or developing potential cost saving projects.
Build upon Departmental Goals monthly and ensure adherence to established KPIs.
Communicate effectively and timely steps taken to correct problems
Champion development, implementation, and continuous improvement
Drive safety, quality, and profitability to meet or exceed company goals
Act as a strategic partner with our sales team to drive market share growth
Manage inventory control
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
5+ years' management experience in a Distribution Center / Fulfillment Center environment required
5+ years handling inventory / operational tasks
Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience
Ability to adapt and change processes to keep pace with the evolving business requirements
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills to reliably respond to urgent situations
Must be process oriented with good judgment and decision-making abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to lead a team
A confirmed understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations
Proficient technical skills included but not limited to Microsoft O365 applications

$5,951.70 - $12,966.80-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
