Skills
- 10+ years professional software engineering experience with substantial full-stack work.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or pods and making technical trade-offs.
- Strong frontend expertise with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Significant backend experience with Python (Django) and Node.js/TypeScript for APIs and services.
- Familiarity with containerized deployments and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of event-driven systems and tools like Kafka.
- Experience with testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, performance, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide architectural guidance.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to convert customer needs into scalable technical solutions and roadmap priorities.
- Architect and implement complex full-stack features using React, TypeScript, Python (Django), Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
- Own delivery from design through deployment, including performance, reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Drive engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, code quality, and tooling improvements.
- Identify technical debt and propose practical approaches to reduce complexity and improve maintainability.
- Partner with engineering leadership on system scaling, infrastructure, and platform decisions.
- Build empathy for customers to ensure products are intuitive, reliable, and impactful.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus but not required.
