Senior Engineer, Observability (Remote - US)

As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will play a strategic role in enhancing the monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency of enterprise platforms. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of observability systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business goals. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and implement innovative solutions across complex environments. You will focus on automating operational tasks, optimizing workflows, and building integrations that enhance visibility into customer systems. Your work will have a direct impact on uptime, reliability, and operational excellence while supporting a diverse range of managed services and client environments.

Accountabilities

• Configure and fine-tune monitoring tools to enable proactive management of enterprise environments.
• Document operational processes, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance measures.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts during critical platform outages (P1 incidents).
• Provide third-level technical support and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Automate processes and workflows across managed services to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and customers, to ensure effective observability practices.
• Plan and design monitoring solutions, build integrations, and expand the operational toolset for Managed Services.
• Participate in after-hours support rotations and scheduled maintenance activities as required.

• BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Recognized subject matter expert in observability and monitoring technologies.
• 3+ years administering enterprise environments with 24x7x365 uptime requirements.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and event management tools, including LogicMonitor and Elastic Observability Platform.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Perl, Python).
• Experience interacting with SOAP and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of MSP environments, solutioning standards, and multi-customer deployments.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external customers, and vendors.
• Technical certifications (MCSA, MCSE, ITIL, CCNA, LogicMonitor, Elastic) are a plus.
