Skills
- 5+ years in data science, data engineering, or machine learning-related roles
- 2+ years of direct people management or delivery management of technical contributors
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end data science lifecycle (ideation to deployment and maintenance)
- Practical experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery facilitation
- Familiarity with MLOps, model governance, and productionization best practices
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to balance technical depth with delivery discipline
Responsibilities
- Manage a multidisciplinary data science team (analytics, ML engineering, data engineering, modeling) of ~6–9 engineers and data scientists, including coaching and career development.
- Translate Data Science vision into clear objectives, priorities, milestones, and resourcing plans.
- Define and optimize agile delivery processes for data science work (design sessions, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Product, Product Engineering, Forward Deploy Engineering, and Customer Success.
- Drive rapid prototyping and iterative development to reduce ambiguity and accelerate validated learning.
- Ensure models and data products are productionized, monitored, and aligned with ML ops and governance practices.
- Serve as primary delivery interface for stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and continuous improvement.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Master's degree in a quantitative field preferred
