The Exploratorium is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the production of interactive exhibits, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while managing in-house resources and outsourcing as necessary.
Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of exhibit production, create and oversee budgets and timelines, supervise staff, and collaborate with project leadership to ensure production strategies align with project goals.
Skills: Strong management and organizational skills, experience with outsourcing processes, proficiency in project management software (like Smartsheet), and general understanding of technical drawings and fabrication processes.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field and three years of leadership experience in design/build environments; proficiency in project management tools and CAD software is preferred.

SUMMARY
The Exploratorium Exhibits group develops, designs, engineers, and produces interactive exhibits, architectural elements and visitor experiences that foster active engagement and learning - for our museum on the San Francisco Bay and our local community, as well as for partner organizations around the world. The Production Manager reports to the Manager, Production Group and is responsible for the day-to-day operation, administration, and supervision of exhibit and exhibition production on major projects. The Production Manager works with project leadership to integrate production with project management, design, and accounting.
