Position Overview

The Associate Director, Laboratory Program Manager delivers solutions to support the laboratory operations organization’s vision. The position is responsible for providing comprehensive planning, execution, and overall leadership of one or more large scale initiatives. This role manages a team of project managers to lead large, high risk, high visibility, and critical projects across the organization that are often highly complex and with a broad scope of impact. This position ensures successful integration and communication between multiple projects, requiring hands-on close collaboration with all levels of Exact Sciences.

Essential Duties

include but are not limited to the following:

• Manages a team of project, program, and/or agile professionals bringing expertise in multiple project management disciplines (example, waterfall or agile methodologies). Provides strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
• Leads execution of strategic programs and/or initiatives with moderate complexity. Translates business objectives into actionable plans and oversee delivery from initiation through closure.
• Aligns project execution with business goals by partnering with cross-functional leaders. Ensures initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and sequenced to maximize impact.
• Maintains visibility across multiple projects and/or programs to identify strategic connections, shared resources, and potential conflicts. Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to coordinate sequencing, resolve interdependencies, and ensure initiatives contribute to broader business objectives.
• Develop talent and succession plans for the project management team. Identify growth opportunities, facilitate skill development, and build a pipeline of future leaders.
• Drive adoption of project / program management or agile delivery tools, best practices, and governance frameworks. Champion continuous improvement and standardization across the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; or Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience.
• 7 years of progressive experience in delivery and / or execution management, including leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
• 3 years of people management experience, with demonstrated success in coaching, performance management, and team development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.
• PMI certification.
• 5+ years project management experience with increasing responsibility of scope and leadership.
• Clinical Laboratory (CAP/CLIA) and/or other regulated industry (GMP/FDA) experience 
• Molecular diagnostics/NGS experience 
• Process Automation experience

Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $226,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
