Evolve is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Advisor to join our Operations team. This role will focus on optimizing the company’s tax strategy, supporting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and contributing to broader financial planning efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in tax law, strategic planning, and risk mitigation, with a proactive mindset for identifying savings opportunities and ensuring long-term compliance. This position is essential in helping Evolve achieve financial efficiency and maintain alignment with evolving tax requirements and business goals.
Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with finance, legal, and external accounting partners.
Tax Strategy & Optimization
Develop and implement proactive tax strategies that align with business objectives and reduce overall tax liabilities.
Identify tax-saving opportunities, credits, incentives, and deductions applicable to the business structure.
Advise leadership on the tax implications of proposed investments, contract terms, and operational changes.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws, legislative changes, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate with external CPAs and tax firms during quarterly and annual tax cycles.
Tax Planning & Forecasting
Build tax forecast models to anticipate future liabilities and manage cash flow planning accordingly.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate impact on business performance and strategy.
Support quarterly and annual financial reporting by preparing accurate tax provisions and disclosures.
Audit Support & Risk Management
Prepare documentation and responses for tax audits or inquiries.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and regulatory requirements to minimize risk exposure.
Review and analyze financial and transactional data for discrepancies and areas of risk.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure consistency in tax-related matters across contracts, payroll, and vendor management.
Review business proposals and vendor contracts from a tax perspective, identifying risks and ensuring favorable terms.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation or CPA designation strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax advising, planning, or compliance — ideally with both corporate and small business exposure.
Strong knowledge of U.S. tax code, IRS regulations, and multi-state tax requirements.
Experience supporting audits, managing tax filings, and preparing tax provisions.
Proven ability to develop and implement tax-saving strategies.
Familiarity with business contract structures, vendor agreements, and financial modeling.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting platforms; knowledge of Google Suite preferred.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed and travel occasionally.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
