This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and sits within the Marketing & Communications team. It is designed for a highly strategic, relationship-driven individual with exceptional leadership potential and deep familiarity with how healthcare systems, corporations, and civic institutions can work together to drive mutual value.

The Vice President will serve as a key connector between Emory Healthcare, Emory University, and major civic and corporate stakeholders, particularly within Atlanta's highly influential business and governmental communities.

Strategic Corporate Partnerships:

  • Identify, evaluate, and lead strategic alliances with corporations and civic institutions that drive growth in key areas: patient appointments, brand reputation, innovation, talent acquisition, and global visibility
  • Position Emory Healthcare as a premier partner of choice for Fortune 500 companies, civic leaders, and globally oriented organizations based in or connected to Atlanta
  • Design and implement partnership strategies that are measurable, mission-aligned, and directly contribute to clinical, academic, and marketing goals
  • Civic & Institutional Engagement:

  • Act as a lead relationship architect between Emory Healthcare and influential organizations such as the City of Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Chamber, and major global corporations (e.g., Delta, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, UPS)
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leadership at Emory University and across Emory Healthcare to foster internal alignment and program success
  • Represent the Chief Marketing Officer's office and the Emory Healthcare brand in high-level external meetings, civic initiatives, and executive-level convenings
  • Marketing & Strategic Integration:

  • Ensure all partnership strategies are fully integrated with broader marketing, brand, and growth plans
  • Given Atlanta's role as an international city, major transportation hub, and home of global companies, ensure Emory Healthcare's global presence and relationships
  • Collaborate with strategic marketing, media, internal communications, and analytics teams to activate partnerships across campaigns and channels
  • Leverage Emory Healthcare's marketing platforms and analytics systems to measure, refine, and report on partnership ROI
  • Budget & Planning:

  • Works with the CMO to develop annual goals, budgets, and KPIs for partnership initiatives
  • Oversees program-level financial planning and performance measurement
  • Regularly reports metrics and outcomes to Marketing Leadership and executive stakeholders

  • Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing Strategy, Corporate Communications, Government Affairs, Advancement, Emory University Relations, and Service Line Leaders
  • Serves as Emory Healthcare's primary liaison to strategic corporate and civic partners
  • Maintains an influential presence in both local (Atlanta) and global networks
  • Manages and provides strategic direction for the director of sports partnerships
  • Acts as project lead and internal liaison for any external agencies or consulting firms supporting strategic partnership or marketing work
  • Travel: Less than 25% of the time may be required.

Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Marketing, Public Policy, or a related field required
    • Experience - Exceptional candidates with equivalent experience and demonstrated strategic leadership will also be considered

    Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships across sectors including healthcare, civic institutions, corporations, and nonprofits
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-level relationships and deliver measurable outcomes through cross-sector collaboration
  • Strong prior relationships with key leadership organizations on the regional, national and global level to enable access to decision-makers and thought-leaders across enterprises
  • Strong knowledge of Emory Healthcare and Emory University's mission, structure, and community relationships preferred
  • Experience working with or overseeing agencies and consulting partners on strategy, brand alignment, or partnership development initiatives
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational environments and work effectively with senior executives and civic leaders
  • This role may also be a strong fit for a high-potential candidate with exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills, even if their background represents a nontraditional path to the director level
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Education - Advanced degree strongly preferred, particularly in International Relations, Public Affairs, Business, or a related discipline from a globally recognized institution
    • Experience - 10 years minimum experience with at least 5 years in a management position
