Dow has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Customer Manager supporting our Packaging and Specialty Plastics Business. This role has a preferred alignment to Houston, TX or Midland, MI. Will also consider Virtual office alignment in the United States or Canada for candidates that are close to a major airport for travel purposes.

The successful candidate will primary be responsible for managing existing sales and developing new sales for Dow's 100% PCR solution (Circa products) with the key focus around the new business development in this space. In addition, the employee will manage sales of virgin resin to a few medium to large customers, is responsible of tactical tasks supporting account management, such as generating leads, outlining sales territories, managing sales analytics, fixing the technical problem of a customer, giving support on the phone to a customer, etc.

Scope is regional (NAA) and may include certain global coordination responsibilities, mostly if the employee is located in a headquarter which may require alignment with all regions within a geography. 

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Manages account portfolio and prepares and implements sales plans.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to help build marketing plans and collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape the sales/marketing plan, market research and mapping.

  • Develop pipeline of opportunities with new and existing customers and convert them into new sales.

  • Leads and conducts negotiations, implements price changes, and develops long term contract agreements.

  • Leads and coordinates customer relationships working to understand customer needs and identifying potential new clients.

  • Manages sales contracts following Dow guidelines and legal requirements according to each region and country.

  • Executes and implements sales and marketing plans and delivering business goals of volume and value.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.

  • 7+ years experience in technical/sales/commercial related positions

  • Fluent in English

  • The ability to work legally in the country for which you are applying. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position. (U.S. or Canada)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Experience with polyethylene Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) sales

  • Strong Sales excellence experience and prior sales experience

The customer's needs get identified and are then matched to the benefits related to the product or service. The goal is to build a long-term relationship rather than a short-term, transactional one.

  • Influencing Skills: Influencing skills refer to the ability to bring people round to a certain way of thinking about a certain topic, without force or coercion whilst acknowledging their opinions.

  • Customer Relationship building: Customer relations refers to the methods a company uses to engage with its customers and improve the customer experience. This includes providing answers to short-term roadblocks as well as proactively creating long-term solutions that are geared towards customer success.

  • Innovation: Innovation is the practical implementation of ideas that result in the introduction of new goods or services or improvement in offering goods or services.
