This Lead Product Marketing Manager will be the first hire into our new Product Marketing function. You will have an opportunity to help establish this function at Dave. You’ll play a pivotal role in defining how we segment customers, position our products, analyze competitors, and drive adoption across the member journey.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you’ll collaborate with Product, Design, Research, Analytics, and Marketing to ensure our offerings resonate deeply with members. You’ll help build the foundations for scalable product marketing while navigating the challenges of operating in a competitive, regulated, and fast-moving category.
Target Customer Identification and Segmentation
Identify the customers we are targeting in a sophisticated and granular way. Beyond demographics, this would include factors such as willingness to pay, attitude toward short-term credit, alternate options for short-term credit, feature preferences, attitude toward neo-banks, etc.
Existing Customer Segmentation
Develop a segmentation of our existing customers based on activity, demographics, and category usage that can be utilized for targeting and creative messaging variations for activities such as cross-selling, onboarding, engagement, and churn mitigation.
Drive Differentiation Through Market Intelligence
Track competitive offerings, category shifts, and customer trends to keep Dave differentiated and future-ready.
Company and Product Positioning
Help clearly define our market category and how we position both the company and our products within it compared to alternatives.
Value Proposition Development
Craft clear, differentiated value propositions and product narratives that connect rational and emotional benefits, ensuring consistency across the full marketing funnel.
Shape Strategy with Member Insights
Lead rigorous vetting of proposed ideas, leveraging research, analytics, and testing. Partner with research and analytics to anticipate opportunities, mitigate risks, and bring the member perspective directly into product and marketing roadmaps.
7+ years of experience in product marketing for consumer-facing products.
Proven success in influencing senior leadership and driving measurable outcomes in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Expertise in segmentation, positioning, and competitive analysis, with a track record of connecting strategy to business results.
Demonstrated ability in leveraging analytics to drive customer insights and recommendations.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to frame and simplify complex ideas into a clear, persuasive vision.
Experience building cross-functional trust with Product, Research, Design, and Marketing partners.
B2C and Fintech experience required; familiarity with credit-challenged or underserved customers strongly preferred.

Gain visibility at the highest level: Work directly with the CMO and influence strategy across leadership.
