Are you a charismatic Developer Advocate with a deep passion for open source software and its communities? Do you thrive in the spotlight, love presenting and hosting events, and possess deep knowledge of cutting-edge open source technologies like Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg™, Apache Spark™, and MLflow?
As an Open Lakehouse Developer Advocate, you'll be a vital bridge between our engineering teams and the wider open source developer community. You'll empower data engineers who are building their careers, products, and services on the open source foundations of Databricks’ solutions. This role will leverage your strong expertise in the Open Lakehouse ecosystem, including Databricks' contributions like Apache Spark™, Apache Iceberg™, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow, to educate, inspire, and support a rapidly growing user base.
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of impactful, scalable knowledge-sharing activities. You’ll deliver engaging talks at conferences and community events, host insightful panels and meetups, create informative blogs and video content that scales to a broad audience, develop comprehensive courseware, provide expert answers in community forums, and conduct one-on-one sessions with influential data engineers and scientists. These efforts will help disseminate best practices and foster a thriving, engaged Open Lakehouse community. You'll also have the opportunity to dive deep into specific open source projects, contributing directly and offering in-depth technical guidance.
Reporting to the lead of OSS Developer Relations, you’ll collaborate with fellow developer advocates and program managers to create a cohesive and impactful developer relations strategy that champions open source.
The ideal candidate for this position will embody the values of our Developer Relations team: a deep passion for open source data engineering, genuine empathy for developers’ needs within the open source community, and a strong commitment to effectively explaining our products and the underlying open source technologies.
