The supply chain organization at CVS Health encompasses strategy & product flow, inventory management, distribution & fulfillment operations, and transportation & delivery services. Our supply chain performance enables profitable sales growth by ensuring our products are in-stock and accessible to our customers and patients when and where they want, with an optimal inventory investment.
As a member of the supply chain leadership team, the VP, Inventory Management and Optimization, is responsible for maximizing the innovative potential of people, process, technology, and enterprise thinking to consistently achieve near-term operational deliverables and longer-term transformational efforts as and when committed to. As a functional leader, this role has accountability for oversight of the Retail Inventory Management team which is comprised of 100+ individuals that plan, forecast, and replenish 50,000+ pharmacy and front store products to over 9000 retail locations and millions of customer homes.

As a Supply Chain Leader you will develop and execute strategies that consistently achieve sales, scripts, margin, customer/patient service (in-stock) and expense targets, while optimizing inventory investments (turn, days of supply, GMROII).
You will provide corporate guidance and forecasts for inventory working capital requirements, P&L (margin) expenses, and departmental capital and expense budgeting and management.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders (Merchandising, Pharmacy Operations, Store Leadership, Finance, Vendors, Marketing, Logistics, Inventory Operations/Product Flow, and Enterprise Analytics) to effectively handle product launches, planogram resets, brand-to-generic (Rx) conversions, disease-state focus Rx programs, promotions, seasonal purchases & allocations, store brand sourcing, and product discontinuation/markdown events.
You will make recommendations to the SVP, Supply Chain, peers and additional senior leaders.
You will successfully develop and implement strategies, tactics, and process improvements that achieve enterprise objectives and the seamless flow of goods through the supply chain.
You will provide leadership that engages and inspires team-members to drive results, innovate, and maximize their professional potential.
You will collaborate with the SVP, Supply Chain to lead talent acquisition & retention efforts and industry & academic engagement.

The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in inventory management, supply chain, retail operations, retail merchandising, or related fields.
Proven leadership experience managing large, cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
Deep understanding of retail and healthcare supply chain dynamics.
Ability to balance cost, service level, and inventory investment trade-offs.
Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments.
Track record of driving innovation through technology and process redesign.
Proven success in leading transformation initiatives and building high-performing teams
Familiarity with AI/ML-driven forecasting tools and advanced analytics platforms.
Exposure to omnichannel inventory strategies, including e-commerce and store fulfillment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain, Analytics, or other related field).
Pay Range:
The typical pay range for this role is: $250,000.00 - $350,000.00.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
