Logistics Coordinator, Assembly

About Commonwealth Fusion Systems:

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.

Combining decades of research, top talent and new technologies, we’re designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. And working with policymakers and suppliers to build the energy industry of the future.

We’re in the best position to make it happen. Since 2018, we’ve raised over $2 billion in capital – more than any other fusion energy company in the U.S.

Now we’re looking for more thinkers, doers, builders, and makers to join us. People who’ll bring new perspectives, solve tough problems, and thrive as part of a team.

If that’s you and this role fits, we want to hear from you.

Join the power movement as a Logistics Coordinator, Assembly

As a Logistics Coordinator on the SPARC Assembly (SASY) Team at CFS, you manage the collection, storage, kitting, cleaning and overall coordination of parts, tools, consumables, PPE and supplies within CFS2 as necessary to support the SASY team as a whole.

In this role, you will interface with Engineering, Planning, Process Control, Inventory and Logistics with a keen eye on setting up the assembly team for success. The right parts and tools, at the right time, staged, clean and kitted in the right place. Disposition, storage, and disposal of obsolesced parts will also fall under the influence  of this title.

In addition to coordinating discrete parts for SPARC, this position will develop and manage systems, processes and workflows for the acquisition, aggregation and distribution of supplies, consumables, chemicals, PPE, etc. that serve the assembly team.

What you'll do:
  • Workflow development: Design, develop and deploy processes that support the assembly team with clean-kitted materials, tools and supplies to enable on time, high quality production

  • Material & Hardware Flow (within Assembly Hall/Tokamak Hall only): Oversee the movement of components and assemblies, ensuring timely flow from receipt through consumption

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and timely component delivery

  • Standardization & Optimization: Establish and enforce operational standards that lay the groundwork for SASY production scalability and consistency

  • Daily Coordination: Work closely with SASY members, planning, supply chain teams, and transport logistics to meet critical delivery timelines

  • Packaging & Traceability: Implement storage, kitting, cleaning and packaging systems to enhance material flow and accountability

  • Lean & 5S Leadership: Champion Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices to reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and minimize disruptions

  • Safety Culture: Partner with EHS to represent SASY’s requirements and help drive compliance to standards. In the absence of process or policy, be the advocate for practical solutions that allow for safety and efficiency

  • Quality Assurance: Facilitate and coordinate inspection points at receipt of goods and work with the Quality department to communicate and resolve discrepancies

What we’re looking for:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 or more years in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrable experience in supply chain/logistics pertaining to the issue, receipt & consumption of hardware
  • Continuous Improvement experience, LEAN or 6 Sigma
  • Ability and inclination to solve problems
