Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Impact
Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on global employment and labor law matters—including hiring, compensation, performance management, discipline, terminations, and employee accommodations—to advance company strategy while minimizing legal risk.
Shape and oversee the development of global HR policies and frameworks that ensure compliance, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities across all jurisdictions.
Anticipate and monitor global legal and regulatory developments, ensuring the business remains compliant and well-positioned for change.

Serve as the primary legal advisor for union and works council engagement, building trusted relationships with employee representatives across regions.
Lead cross-functional collaboration during collective bargaining processes, labor negotiations, and compliance initiatives.
Performance Metrics & Accountability
Define and track success measures for global labor relations strategies, including negotiation outcomes, compliance rates, and dispute resolution timelines.
Establish KPIs for employment litigation and arbitration management, ensuring efficient use of resources and measurable risk reduction.
Share results transparently with leadership and proactively address any gaps or risks that could impact business operations.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Drive innovation in global employment law compliance frameworks, enhancing efficiency and consistency across countries.
Develop proactive labor relations strategies that anticipate trends and evolving workforce dynamics.
Champion early dispute resolution practices to reduce litigation exposure and cost, while fostering a culture of fairness and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
J.D. degree and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
10+ years of employment and labor law experience, including time at a major law firm and/or in-house legal department.
Demonstrated success leading teams and developing legal or HR professionals.
Proven expertise advising employment matters across multiple global jurisdictions (i.e., EMEA, APAC, Latin America).
Strong background managing unionized workforces, collective bargaining negotiations, and labor disputes.
Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state labor and employment laws; familiarity with public company regulatory requirements (SEC disclosures, DEI, whistleblower protections).
Excellent judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business strategy.
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders globally.
Prior in-house experience at a public company strongly preferred.
Experience with M&A due diligence and post-acquisition employment integration.
Familiarity with international data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) as related to employment practices.
