Legal Operations & Transformation Program Manager

We anticipate the application window for this opening will close on - 20 Oct 2025

At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

A Day in the Life

Medtronic’s Diabetes Operating Unit is seeking a Legal Operations Program Manager to join its high-impact Legal & Compliance team. In this role, you will support the Director of Legal Operations in executing key operational initiatives that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the legal function.

You will lead and support cross-functional projects across legal billing, litigation operations, Sunshine Act compliance, technology optimization, and process improvement. This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to legal leadership, compliance teams, IT, and external vendors. Your work will directly contribute to how legal services are delivered, measured, and continuously improved across the organization.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program & Project Execution:
Support and drive legal operations programs with a focus on Sunshine Act/Transparency reporting, litigation support, legal billing, and workflow improvements.

  • Technology Optimization:
Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and management of legal tech platforms (e.g., CLM, eBilling, matter management, investigation tracking). Ensure alignment with department needs and business objectives.

  • Vendor & Spend Management:
Manage legal billing processes, ensure compliance with billing guidelines, support eBilling platform operations, and assist with vendor engagement and reporting.

  • Compliance Operations:
Collaborate with Compliance and Legal stakeholders to support transparency reporting obligations (e.g., Sunshine Act), channel partner governance, and related operational processes.

  • Litigation & Investigation Support:
Partner with legal counsel and outside counsel on litigation case tracking, documentation workflows, and coordination of key operational deliverables.

  • Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities within legal operations. Support the standardization and documentation of procedures across the legal team.

  • Reporting & Metrics:
Build and maintain operational dashboards to track program performance, legal spend, compliance metrics, and initiative progress. Prepare regular updates for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
Serve as a liaison between Legal, Compliance, IT, Finance, and external vendors. Facilitate cross-functional coordination to ensure project success and stakeholder alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in legal operations, project management, or compliance.

  • Experience supporting legal functions in billing, litigation, or compliance-related domains.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with legal technology tools such as ONIT, CounselLink, Anaqua, Navex, or equivalent platforms.

  • Familiarity with Sunshine Act/Transparency reporting, litigation operations, and legal billing systems.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across workstreams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across legal, business, and technical teams.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Prior experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, medtech, or pharmaceuticals is a plus.

Why Join Us?

At Medtronic, we use our deep clinical, regulatory, and business expertise to help improve patient outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven team focused on optimizing legal services to support innovation and compliance across the Diabetes Operating Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law, operations, and technology — with meaningful impact and room to grow.
