BMP Doors, located in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, is looking for a Operations Manager. We specialize in manufacturing, selling, and assisting in a variety of high-performance high-speed doors.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Ā· Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Ā· Using lean manufacturing, strive to exceed the company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis.
Ā· Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIās) are monitored, and targets achieved.
Ā· Ensure safe working practices are maintained and āStandard Operationsā adhered to.
Ā· Ensure that non-conformance is challenged, and countermeasures are agreed and implemented.
Ā· Oversee support functions concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
Ā· Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build.
Ā· Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
Ā· Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
Ā· Promote Total Productive Maintenance procedures to further improve the availability of the line. Work with maintenance technicians regarding plant or machinery breakdowns.
Ā· Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and ensuring compliance with procedures, operating procedures, and work instructions.
Ā· Support the resolution of customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root causes using robust countermeasures. Sustain corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
Ā· Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, support dispatch time windows.
Ā· Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ā· Directly supervises 4 employees and indirectly 20+ within various departments.
Ā· Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is always maintained.
Ā· Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced. Utilize interpersonal styles, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.
Ā· Sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving.
Ā· Communicate with the team by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost, delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.
Ā· Manage team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
Ā· Ability to build effective relationships with work colleagues.
Qualifications:
Ā· Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Management or related field.
Ā· Computer skills required: Contract Management Systems; Development Software; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software
Other skills required:
Ā· Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment (hands-on proven track record in metal fabrication).
Ā· Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques.
Ā· Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
Ā· Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
Ā· Technically competent, quick study, and excellent communication/people skills.
Ā· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to establish logical practical solutions.
