About the Role

As General Counsel, you'll be the legal powerhouse behind our mission to make energy reliable and abundant. You'll lead all legal affairs, ensuring we navigate the changing energy landscape with agility. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape and execute our legal strategy as we grow in Texas and beyond.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies to support business growth, including regulatory compliance in energy, utilities, and consumer protection.

• Oversee contract negotiations, drafting, and management for partnerships, vendor agreements, customer terms, and any litigation.

• Hire and manage outside counsel where needed, and own staffing and execution for a growing internal legal team.

• Manage corporate governance, intellectual property protection, and litigation risks, while advising and corporate structuring and related matters.

• Advise on state and federal regulations with a proactive approach that can help Base expand. Work hand in hand with a growing Policy team to implement effective change at the federal, state, and local levels for our business.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, sales) on product development, installations, and customer interactions.

• Provide strategic counsel to the team on legal implications of business decisions.

What You’ll Bring

• 8+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in energy, utilities, or technology sectors; startup or high-growth company experience preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.

• An entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and prioritizes impact over perfection.

• Passion for our work and a commitment to building a more reliable grid for all.
