We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support The Atlantic's Chief Executive Officer in New York. In addition to being exceptionally organized and communicative, a masterful problem-solver, and a collaborative team player, writing and research experience is critical in this role.
This position reports into the Office of the CEO and works closely with the CEO, Nicholas Thompson, every day. It will also involve supporting other senior Atlantic executives in the New York office as needed.
You will:
Work closely with the CEO to keep him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, and help him prepare with synthesized information based on your thorough research.
Anticipate needs in advance of meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, and panels.
Work closely with the CEO’s Chief of Staff to act as a bridge for smooth communication between the CEO and staff, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with the Executive Team.
Represent the CEO and The Atlantic brand with external parties via email communication, phone calls, and in-person engagements.
Manage schedules and spearhead travel arrangements (both domestic and international) for the CEO as well as select other senior executives in the New York office on occasion.
Coordinate team meetings: prepare agendas, facilitate pre-read documents, take notes, and actuate follow-up items.
Receive and handle confidential information, and maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information.
Coordinate knowledge management by maintaining databases, shared drives, and Slack channels.
Handle assorted administrative responsibilities such as expense reconciliation, invoice processing, and miscellaneous tasks as needed for the CEO and other senior executives in the New York office.
Daily interaction across all levels and roles at The Atlantic, particularly among the business teams
Help manage the CEO’s online presence, including his social media feeds and newsletter.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Industry experience in Publishing and/or Media
Prior work experience or general interest in social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
This role is based in New York City.
