VP, Carrier Business Strategy

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President, Strategic Initiatives to lead and execute insurance carrier product strategies that support the financial, operational, and customer experience goals of our Lender Solutions business.  

This executive-level role will be responsible for the overall product management of the carrier channel, ensuring alignment with Assurant’s strategic priorities and delivering superior service to clients and customers. The VP will collaborate across internal teams and external partners to drive innovation, regulatory alignment, and long-term client success.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Lead and optimize insurance carrier strategy to maximize revenue, market participation, and operational efficiency.

  • Expand actionable understanding and incorporation of carrier connectivity value proposition in alignment with the annual roadmap.

  • Drive execution of key transformation initiatives relating to Lending Solutions business interaction with carriers.

  • Influence regulatory and legal interpretations to clarify requirements and enhance the insurance verification process.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across business units and enterprise shared services.

  • Communicate strategic priorities effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Deliver persuasive, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Build consensus and foster trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead and mentor a team of up to 5 direct reports

What are the requirements for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry driving and building strategic understanding of carrier values, goals, and roadmaps.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and set strategic vision.

  • Proven communication skills with experience engaging C-suite executives and front-line managers.

  • Demonstrated success in mobilizing teams toward a shared future state.

  • Experience building high-performing teams aligned with business objectives.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Experience driving cross-functional consensus and maintaining urgency.

  • Skilled in processing complex, time-sensitive data and communicating actionable insights.

  • Prior experience managing product teams or cross-functional initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

 How much should I expect to travel?  

  • Up to 20% travel annually

Pay Range:

$196,600.00 - $328,200.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
