What you'll do:

This role is a key member of the Corporate Strategy & Planning team and will act as an internal strategic business partner and consultant to aid the executive team in developing business initiatives aligned to the Bank’s Strategic Plan. This role will primarily support the bank’s Go-To-Market (GTM) Expansion Planning initiatives & be partnered with the Bank’s Chief Banking Officer where you will be positioned at the crucial intersection of business & industry to manage the development of expansion strategies for new LOBs aligned to local, national, and international opportunities for the bank’s long-term growth.
  • Partners closely with the Corporate Strategy leadership team and line of business executives to support the development & execution of the bank-wide Strategic Plan utilizing data-informed business insights.
  • Aligned to the bank’s Chief Banking Officer to support their strategic priorities for the Bank, develop their annual strategic plan, and proactively identify issues to help mitigate enterprise risks.
  • Partners with Line of Business (LOB) Leaders to help identify, assess & provide data informed insights on bank geo & market expansion plans to grow deposits, increase branch footprint and drive shareholder value.
  • Drive GTM planning efforts needed to evaluate alternative branch expansion strategies in targeted geographies and key new product opportunities related to customers’ needs, such as international banking / title & escrow.
  • Foster stakeholder relationships to drive alignment with the Corporate Support Functions (Product, Real Estate/Facilities, Marketing, HR, Recruiting, & Operations) to drive expansion efforts alongside the LOB leaders.
  • Gather macroeconomic data on vertical attractiveness while assessing peer competition to inform business GTM planning aligned to our bank’s industry verticals to increase optimal market entry success.
  • Acts as a resource to enhance business execution by aligning cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality progress on the planning, presentation, and implementation of business GTM Expansion initiatives.
  • Gather market research and related analysis to define target markets around potential transactions for organic or inorganic growth opportunities based on evolving environment & industry landscape
  • Supports the executive Quarterly Business Review Meetings to ensure GTM planning maintains alignment of KRIs, Execution Risk, Operational Plans, and financial planning towards the bank’s Strategic Plan
  • Provides advisory on relevant trends, emerging technologies and insights from the banking industry to ensure proper alignment of communication to deliver enterprise-wide business solutions.
  • Comfortable with a 10-15% travel schedule to attend offsite executive planning sessions and to attend various banking & industry aligned conferences to gather industry insights.

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience through management consulting, strategy consulting, or internal strategic planning / corporate strategy within the Banking industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field
  • Experience driving large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research / analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving GTM execution to success.
  • Experience creating & presenting executive level PowerPoint presentations for executive stakeholders while managing ambiguity throughout the creative process.
  • Experience with market data gathering tools such as S&P Global & various Govt & Global public databases
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions utilizing your strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills to help inform decision-making for senior leaders.
  • (A Plus) Familiarity with financial evaluations, corporate finance / acquisition modeling, due diligence, and various valuation methodologies for organic and inorganic growth opportunities
