Assort Health is transforming how specialty clinics deliver care by combining best-in-class operations with the power of AI. As we scale from 50 to 170 people over the next 16 months, we’re looking for a scrappy, organized, detail-oriented Head of Finance to be our first finance hire. This role is foundational: you’ll set up core processes from the ground up, build and lead our finance team, and shape the financial strategy that fuels our growth.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be deep in the weeds, using AI-driven tools to accelerate workflows and insights, while also building toward the strategic leadership required of a CFO.
Build Finance 0 → 1: Stand up all core processes, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
Hire & Lead: Build and manage a lean team, starting with a senior accountant and a finance operations specialist.
Be Hands-On: Roll up your sleeves on everything from reconciliations to board decks; nothing is “too small” as we scale.
Leverage AI: Deploy and experiment with cutting-edge AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and generate insights.
Partner with Leadership: Report directly to the CEO and leadership team to shape growth strategy, track performance, and support fundraising.
Scale with Us: Build scalable systems and reporting infrastructure that can support our team as we grow 3x in size.
Board & Investor Reporting: Deliver transparent and compelling reporting packages to current and future investors.
Experience Mix: Minimum 2 years in M&A investment banking AND minimum 2 years in corporate finance at a startup.
Breadth and Depth: Have seen a wide breadth of financial needs within in an organization and have led e2e complex financial needs.
Scrappy Mindset: You’re as comfortable in the weeds as you are presenting to a board.
Strong Financial Network: Have a strong network you can tap to understand best practices for quickly evolving financial landscape for hypergrowth AI agent startups.
