Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for database solutions used across product and research teams
- Design and implement databases that scale to millions of users and billions of API requests
- Build and scale database systems through 100x+ growth while maintaining reliability and performance
- Architect storage solutions spanning GCP, AWS, first-party and third-party deployments
- Develop infrastructure serving both product (low-latency OLTP) and research (variable workloads)
- Partner with product and research teams to understand data requirements and accelerate innovation
- Optimize database performance, reliability, and cost efficiency at massive scale
- Evaluate build vs buy tradeoffs and drive strategic technology decisions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (required)
- Master's or higher in CS/EE or related field preferred but not required
