Staff Robotics Software Engineer, Air Vehicle Autonomy
Skills
- Deep experience in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, and controls
- Sensor integration and sensor fusion techniques
- SLAM and target localization expertise
- Experience with troubleshooting remotely deployed systems and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage full project lifecycles
- Familiarity with embedded and physical device programming (preferred: Python, Rust, Go)
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain core libraries and services enabling collaborative teams of robots (e.g., motion deconfliction, contingency management).
- Own major feature development and rollout for complex autonomy capabilities, including terminal-phase autonomy and live surrogate testing.
- Collaborate closely with hardware teams, Perception, Motion Planning, Test Engineering, and operational SMEs to define requirements and iterate designs.
- Integrate and validate multi-sensor systems, perception pipelines, and estimation for deployed vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and analyze remotely deployed software and support field test and deployment activities.
- Guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and lead multidisciplinary project lifecycles from concept to deployment.
Education
- BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (required)
- MS or PhD in a related field (preferred)
