Software Engineer, Backend Core Platform
Skills
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Python or Go
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of CI/CD, version control and automated testing best practices
- Experience with performance tuning and monitoring/logging toolchains
- Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance backend services to support the core platform
- Design, maintain and optimize databases for high throughput and efficient access
- Develop and maintain internal APIs for integration with front-end and third-party enterprise systems
- Integrate PLM, ERP, WMS and MES systems and enhance model-based definitions (e.g., Teamcenter)
- Monitor and optimize system performance to minimize latency and maximize efficiency
- Collaborate with front-end, data engineering, manufacturing and corporate technology teams
- Produce comprehensive documentation for backend services, APIs and data pipelines
- Incorporate AI-driven insights into engineering and production workflows where applicable
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant industry certifications or demonstrable project experience welcomed
