Responsibilities
- Define system architectures through trade studies and system-level analyses
- Develop and validate physics-based sensor performance models and derive system requirements
- Perform radiometric performance modeling and atmospheric/environmental effects modeling
- Design, build, and take ownership of prototype sensor systems in lab environments
- Plan and execute laboratory, ground, and flight testing and validate models against real-world data
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to integrate and deliver systems
- Communicate technical results to internal and external stakeholders and lead small engineering teams
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, optics, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Master's or PhD in a related discipline preferred for advanced modeling roles
