Senior Product Manager, Deployed Optical Systems
Skills
- Proven end-to-end product development for rugged hardware-software systems
- Technical understanding of computer vision, AI/ML, autonomy, and embedded systems
- Experience with electro-optical / infrared (EO/IR) or similar optical systems
- Familiarity with networking and sensor fusion concepts
- Experience working with DoD/defense or aerospace customers and acquisition processes
- Data-driven decision making and ROI/business-case analysis
- Experience with manufacturing scaling, supply chain, and cost optimization
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
Responsibilities
- Define long-term product strategy, roadmap, and business case for deployed optical systems.
- Create and maintain Product Requirements Documents and feature specifications to guide engineering and production.
- Partner with Engineering Leads and Technical Program Managers to ensure designs meet operational, scalability, and manufacturability requirements.
- Establish product goals, success metrics, and track performance against targets.
- Drive cost, margin, and make-vs-buy decisions in coordination with Finance and business leadership.
- Engage with customers, business development, and field teams to gather feedback and validate product direction.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and technology adoption.
- Support supply chain, manufacturing scale-up, and production readiness activities.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Business, or related technical field
