Senior Software Engineer, Generalist
Skills
- 5+ years building production-ready backend software in Go, Python, Java, Rust, or C++
- Experience designing and operating relational and NoSQL databases and data pipelines
- Proven ability to work with complex, distributed back-end systems and large codebases
- Strong system design and debugging skills, performance tuning, and observability practices
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD, containerization, and service orchestration
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure back-end services for mission-critical applications.
- Architect and implement data models, databases, and data pipelines to support large-scale data processing and storage.
- Collaborate with front-end, robotics, and systems engineers to define service requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Profile and optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for efficient data flow and responsiveness.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of distributed systems.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong academic foundation in algorithms, systems, and software engineering concepts
