Senior Software Engineer, Generalist (Active Clearance)
Skills
- 5+ years building production backend services in languages such as Go, Python, Java, Rust, or C++
- Experience designing and operating relational and NoSQL databases and building data pipelines
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, system architecture, and fault tolerance
- Experience with performance tuning, profiling, and scalability solutions
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and production monitoring
- Ability to work in secure/clearance environments and maintain an active Top Secret clearance
- Proven ability to learn complex codebases and contribute quickly to sophisticated systems
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure backend services for mission-critical applications.
- Architect and implement data models, databases, and data pipelines to support large-scale processing and storage.
- Collaborate with front-end, robotics, and systems teams to define service requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Analyze and optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements for responsiveness and throughput.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of distributed systems.
- Ensure security, reliability, and compliance requirements are met for clearance-sensitive systems; support necessary operational needs and potential travel.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred but not required
