Senior Robotics Engineer, Maritime
Skills
- 5+ years C++ or Rust in Linux development
- Robotics fundamentals: estimation, localization, mapping, motion planning
- Sensor integration and calibration for perception (sonar, IMU, cameras, etc.)
- Experience with embedded systems and field-deployed software
- Strong data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization skills
- Networking and interfaces: gRPC, TCP/IP, RS485, RS232
- Troubleshooting and remote system analysis
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end integration across perception, motion planning, state estimation, and autonomy subsystems
- Design and integrate sensors for perception, mapping and SLAM on AUV platforms
- Develop production-quality software primarily in Rust and C++ for embedded and deployed systems
- Implement and validate state estimation, localization, mapping, and guidance/navigation features
- Participate in full software lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, validation, and deployment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in remotely deployed systems to ensure field performance
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, test) and perform integration testing
- Travel up to 15% to support field tests, deployments, and on-site integration
Education
- BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, EE, Mathematics, Physics or related field (required or equivalent experience)
- MS in related field preferred
