Lead Backend Platform, the team that enables every backend engineer to move faster, safer, and more effectively. This role covers Developer Experience, CI/CD, runtime infrastructure, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, Observability/SLOs & Incident Response, and Data Infrastructure as core responsibilities.

You will set the vision for how backend services are built, deployed, observed, and operated—transforming complex systems into intuitive, reliable platforms that empower product teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve backend service standards, paved paths, and shared libraries.

• Deliver high-performing CI/CD pipelines and secure, cost-efficient runtime infrastructure.

• Advance Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and reliability practices across the org.

• Oversee scalable, reliable data infrastructure aligned with product needs.

• Drive platform adoption through enablement, training, and cross-functional partnerships.

• Build and mentor a high-performing, inclusive team.

• Align priorities, influence roadmaps, and ensure execution of strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management, leading platform/infra teams of 5–10+ engineers.

• Proven ownership of CI/CD, Kubernetes (EKS or similar), and IaC (Terraform or Pulumi) in production.

• Strong distributed‑systems and operations fundamentals, with SLO/SLI and incident response leadership.

• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management; proven ability to influence without authority.

• Security & compliance awareness (e.g., IAM, secrets management, change controls).

Nice to Have

• Experience with streaming, distributed databases, or service mesh.

• Hands‑on background in modern backend languages.

• Familiarity with crypto/web3 environments.

Location

• North America (US, Canada, Argentina). East Coast time zone preferred but flexible.

The target base salary for this role will range between $200,000 to $240,000 with the addition of equity and benefits. This is determined by a few factors including your skillset, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews and market factors (such as location) at the point in time of offer.
