Senior Mission Software Engineer, Maritime
Skills
- 3+ years C++, Python, or Rust development in Linux
- Experience with large data processing and analysis pipelines
- Systems integration and navigating complex codebases
- Networking and distributed communications fundamentals
- Autonomy, robotics, or sensor-fusion domain experience
- Ability to work directly with customers and end-users
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end software solutions deployed to maritime customers, from feature design through validation and field deployment
- Write and maintain C++, Python, or Rust code in Linux environments to support mission-specific capabilities
- Collaborate with vehicle platform engineers to scale mission capabilities across customers
- Create and analyze telemetry and metrics for debugging, monitoring, and performance evaluation
- Triage issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate remediation and follow-ups
- Partner with end-users to translate operational needs into features while balancing UX and engineering constraints
- Travel (up to ~10%) to support field tests, integration, and deployments
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Relevant industry experience in lieu of formal education may be considered
