Responsibilities
- Own complex mechanical designs for drone products from concept through full-rate production
- Gather requirements and run trade studies to identify optimal solutions
- Perform structural analysis to develop, assess, and optimize designs
- Lead design reviews and coordinate with cross-disciplinary partners
- Build prototypes, execute hardware test plans, iterate designs, and document results
- Investigate root causes of hardware failures in development and production
- Balance subsystem requirements while optimizing for mass, manufacturability, cost, and development speed
- Support customer hardware demonstrations and travel to test sites and vendors as needed
Education
- Minimum B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Graduate degree optional but not required
