Skills
- Practical expertise with NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, and JSIG implementation
- Experience developing and maintaining SSPs, POA&Ms, and other A&A documentation
- Hands-on vulnerability assessment and continuous monitoring experience
- Ability to integrate security into SDLC and collaborate with engineering teams
- Knowledge of IDS/IPS, encryption, secure communications, and access control strategies
- Experience operating in classified, air-gapped, or DoD environments and liaising with government security officials
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Information Systems Security Officers supporting classified programs and deployments
- Manage RMF/ATO lifecycle including SSPs, POA&Ms, continuous monitoring, and accreditation artifacts
- Tailor and apply NIST 800-53, JSIG, and DoD/industry controls to program environments
- Conduct security and vulnerability assessments, scanning, and remediation tracking
- Coordinate with programs, engineering, and government stakeholders to meet contractual security requirements
- Define security requirements for product features and advise on secure architecture for air-gapped/classified environments
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, containment, and reporting for accredited systems
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CAP, Security+) are strongly preferred
- Equivalent combination of relevant experience and education acceptable
