- Broadband high-power amplifier design (VHF through X-band+)
- Experience with Ansys Electronics Desktop (Nexxim/SiWave) and Cadence AWR Microwave Office
- Hands-on use of VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, and load-pull
- Impedance matching network design and optimization
- Schematic capture and guiding PCB layout for RF designs
- Test plan development and lab test execution
- Component evaluation and cascade analysis
Responsibilities
- Design, model, simulate, and optimize high-power RF power amplifiers across VHF to X-band and higher.
- Evaluate and select off-the-shelf components (discrete transistors, MMICs) and perform component characterization.
- Perform RF cascade analyses and impedance matching optimizations for amplifier stages.
- Create schematics and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and PCB layout teams to achieve first-pass design success.
- Lead board bring-up, lab test execution, characterization, debugging, and circuit optimizations.
- Develop circuit verification test plans and contribute to test automation and execution.
- Support RF system/subsystem requirement development, feasibility studies, and manufacturing/test requirement definitions.
Education
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (required)
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
