Responsibilities
- Lead avionics and vehicle subsystem programs from concept through production, developing core avionics systems and supporting modules.
- Create, maintain and communicate detailed product development schedules, tasks and deadlines for assigned personnel.
- Define flight architecture with emphasis on reliability, resiliency, redundancy and fault tolerance; develop specifications and verification plans.
- Verify system-level avionics test coverage on flight or flight-representative hardware; validate product performance.
- Develop hardware test methodologies, test automation, performance monitoring and data analysis.
- Execute full-cycle PCB and LRU design: requirements capture, schematic, component selection, layout supervision, bring-up, test, debug and integration.
- Create system interconnect diagrams and define cable and wire harness designs for vehicle integration.
- Manage fabrication, assembly and BOM with PCB, cable, connector and component vendors.
- Collaborate with software and firmware teams on flight controls, sensing, payload integration, power management and networking.
- Represent avionics in vehicle-level cross-disciplinary trade studies to optimize architecture and implementation.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (required)
- Relevant industry certifications or equivalent hands-on hardware experience
