In the fast-paced world of crypto we must memorialize our relationships in ways that stand the test of time. We need a sharp legal negotiator to assist with the documentation of our core services - all missions critical to our operations. In addition, we need someone with intellect and curiosity to help us continue to improve our business and agreements.


We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Member of Legal, Commercial Counsel role:


Technical Skills:
  • Experienced in negotiating variety of complex agreements and has understanding of contract principles.
  • Build on existing legal team’s negotiation playbook.
  • Strong understanding of agreement terms and its impact across different internal teams and the company as a whole.


Complexity and Impact of Work:
  • Manage internal and external timeline for agreement turn around time.
  • Assist in improving existing agreements and implementing changes broadly with various internal teams.
  • Monitor client agreement workflows and advise as the primary legal counsel for workflows owned by the counsel.


Organizational Knowledge:
  • Have a deep knowledge of the strategy of Anchorage Digital and its various business lines. Actively engage with different groups to work on understanding historical transactions as well as requirements for executing on go-forward global strategy. 


Communication and Influence:
  • Able to communicate complex issues clearly and credibly across a wide range of audiences.
  • Communicate, organize and execute on cross-team goals and projects, by advising internal teams to solve legal issues during negotiations.


You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • You have a J.D. degree and 3-6 years of experience.
  • You have a background in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and deal documents and are comfortable facing highly-sophisticated institutional clients and counterparties.
  • You have demonstrated experience working closely with the business and other cross functional teams to build new products, solve complex issues, and strategize growth.
  • You have enthusiasm for crypto and a foundational understanding of the crypto industry and applicable laws/regulations both in the U.S. and internationally.
  • You demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • You have the ability to execute with moderate supervision and balance commercial and legal realities.


Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
