Summary:
UEAS Academic Living Learning Communities (LLCs) seeks to hire a program assistant. The program assistant will provide support for the planning and implementation of co-curricular activities, marketing and recruitment efforts, assessment, communication, and other administrative tasks.
This position will support and serve the University College, Cornerstone, and AU Compass LLCs. The University College program is a living-learning community that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through transformative co-curricular experiences and other social activities. The Cornerstone Program is a unique opportunity for first-year students to intern or study abroad and provides an exciting environment that challenges them to think differently and to take an active role in their education and the world around them. This position reports to the Coordinator, University College, and is a part of the AU Core and Academic Living-Learning Community team in the Office of Undergraduate Education and Academic Student Services.
Essential Functions:
Assist with designing, planning, and implementing program activities, including welcome activities, program-wide events, cohort-based events, and speaker series.
Support with all event planning logistics, including room reservations, catering requests, attendance tracking, and preparation of written materials, as necessary.
Guide and follow up with all Program Leader co-curricular programming.
Coordinate and collaborate with current LLC students to present at various admissions events throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.
Assist with the supervision and support of Undergraduate Student Employees.
Respond to prospective student program inquiries via phone.
Schedule and conduct meetings with prospective students and their families.
Coordinate regular posts on social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
Design and develop content for the program advertisements and mailers.
Develop and distribute content for weekly LLC newsletters.
Monitor all LLC email inboxes daily.
Participate in weekly check-in meetings with program staff and supervisor.
Manage student data and assist with data collection.
Maintain budget records for program expenditures and credit card reconciliation.
Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Coordinators of University College, Coordinator of Cornerstone, Assistant Director of Academic LLCs, and Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Education.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-Time.
Student.
20-25 hours per week, and the regular hours are expected to be between 9 am and 5 pm.
Some nights and weekend commitments will be required.
Hybrid 1-Position is mostly on campus with 1-2 days of remote work each week. Hours of work may vary based on service and space needs.
Salary Range:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
Preferred Education and Experience:
Have experience with event planning or social media (production and/or management).
