Curriculum Developer - Contractor

As a contracted Curriculum Developer, you will be a key contributor to our online learning experiences, working remotely and asynchronously to evaluate and enhance online course components like discussion board prompts, assignment directions, and educational video scripts. Compensation

ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high-quality, affordable programs for our students. The hourly rate for this contract role $35.00 per hour.

Day to Day Responsibilities

In this role, you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas: 

  • Supports the department by evaluating the outcome clarity, alignment, workload, learner engagement, and formatting of course discussion boards and assignments to improve student satisfaction.
  • Analyzes student and faculty feedback to inform decision-making.
  • Uses critical thinking and guidelines from established guidelines and checklists to assure the quality of course components.
  • Uses project management software, email, and instant messaging to coordinate project workflows, document the time required for projects and tasks, and coordinate tasks with team members.
  • Selects appropriate channels to demonstrate positive, professional, and concise oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Embraces continuous improvement processes, flexibility, self-reflection, and an overall growth mindset when facing challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrates expert composition skills to adapt writing for various purposes, tones, and audiences.
  • Applies the writing process to conduct research, revise, and edit to ensure compliance with ACE manuals and the American Psychological Association (APA) style guide.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in secondary education, curriculum development, learning design, or a related field; doctoral degree is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in academic writing, proofreading, and copyediting across any discipline
