SPTC Account Compliance Insights team is looking for a highly analytical and result-oriented Risk Manager who can analyze business decisions, troubleshoot issues, and communicate the findings effectively across different teams while raising the technical bar of the globally distributed analytics team, providing data wrangling expertise, deep understanding of data fundamentals, working with and synthesizing very large datasets.
As a Risk Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing terabytes of data to identify specific instances of risk, broader risk trends and points of customer friction, developing scalable solutions for prevention and detection. In addition you will be responsible for building a robust set of programmatic, business, and risk metrics; utilizing metrics to determine improvement opportunities. The Specialist will use data tools such as SQL, Excel, Quicksight and other advanced analytics using Python and/or R to analyse large volumes of data, build and maintain queries, and an effective and efficient approach to technological control implementation. This role will work directly with compliance programs, operations, quality auditors, software development and business intelligence. Ideal candidate must be excited by data-driven decisions, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
Key job responsibilities
You will leverage your technical experience to drive large-scale efforts to ensure adherence with regulations. You will translate high level requirements into straight-forward solutions, often inventing new ones. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than many programs and display high levels of bias for action, earning trust, and ownership.
This position will be responsible for the following activities:
• Own the requirements development and maintenance of new and existing monitoring controls.
• Perform deep dives and generate data driven insights into risk, metrics, and reporting.
• Partner with business teams and data engineers to consult, develop, and implement key risk indicators, models of customer risk, programmatic improvements.
• Perform statistical analysis of transactions, investigation outcomes and behaviors for the purpose of identifying patterns of risk and improving control performance
• Communicate to stakeholders regarding progress and roadblocks.
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions.
• Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our business and risk needs.
• Provide regular coaching and mentoring to grow skillsets and leadership capability of junior teammates and new hires.
A day in the life
The SPTC Account Compliance Insights team supports the data needs and analytical requirements of Compliance operations and program teams. This includes performing data extraction, conducting statistical analysis and generating business insights. The role will also support internal customers' recurring data needs through scheduled reports and user friendly dashboard solutions. Additionally there would be focus on exploring new data sets, internal tools and services that can help scale the program, reduce false positives and identify new types of compliance risks

- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $74,200/year up to $129,800/year. The National base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market.
