CRO (Chief Risk Officer) - Telcoin Digital Asset Bank

Telcoin is establishing a regulated Digital Asset Bank and is looking for an experienced Chief Risk Officer to design and lead an enterprise-wide risk management program from inception. The CRO will partner with the CEO, Bank President, Board of Directors, and regulators to identify, mitigate, and monitor operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks while enabling responsible growth in a regulated digital-asset environment.

Skills

  • Enterprise risk management design and implementation
  • Expertise in credit, operational, compliance, and enterprise risk
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. banking regulations and supervisory expectations
  • Proven experience managing regulatory exams and audits
  • Board-level risk governance and reporting experience
  • Strategic thinking to balance innovation and regulatory discipline
  • Strong leadership, executive presence, and clear communication
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and fraud risk mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise risk management frameworks and policies for the Digital Asset Bank.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across operational, financial, compliance, and reputational domains.
  • Develop and execute mitigation strategies for risks including cybersecurity, fraud, and emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with compliance to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with the Nebraska Department of Banking & Finance and other regulators to meet supervisory expectations.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and control effectiveness; prepare reports for executives, the board, and shareholders.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture through training and stakeholder communication across the organization.
  • Coordinate risk management activities with IT, finance, legal, and business units to balance protection and value creation.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) or professional certification preferred (e.g., FRM, CRCM)
