San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) is seeking a strategic and results-driven executive to serve as Deputy Director - Finance and Administration. Reporting to the Director of Aviation, this key leadership role serves as the Airport’s top financial executive and is responsible for the overall financial health, commercial performance, and fiscal strategy of San José Mineta International Airport (SJC).
Key Responsibilities:
As a critical member of the Airport’s executive team, the Deputy Director will develop and lead a dynamic, forward-thinking financial strategy that supports growth, innovation, and operational excellence. This position plans, organizes, and directs the financial, business, commercial, and property management functions of SJC. Areas of responsibility include:
Champion the development and execution of multi-year financial plans, operating and capital budgets, and enterprise fund strategies. Lead airport-wide financial forecasting, debt issuance and management, and the administration of key funding streams, including grants, Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs), and Customer Facility Charges (CFCs). Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting, including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), while maintaining full compliance with bond covenants and performance metrics.
Oversee core financial operations including revenue collection, billing, payroll, procurement, accounts payable, treasury and cash flow management. Optimize internal controls, fixed asset oversight, and financial analytics to ensure accountability and resource efficiency. Supervise tenant financial audits and use data-driven analysis to identify trends, improve performance, and inform decision-making.
Drive the strategic use of financial technology platforms to streamline operations, increase transparency, and empower data-informed decisions. Enhance automation and integration across finance, business operations, and performance monitoring systems. Administration of automated financial and business systems to support data-driven decision-making and operational transparency.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, audit standards, and reporting requirements. Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensures a balanced budget and uphold financial integrity, operational efficiency, and transparency across all airport revenue streams and expenditures.
Lead innovative efforts to identify and capitalize on new revenue-generating opportunities, both aeronautical and non-aeronautical. Partner with Operations on the implementation of a new dynamic parking revenue pricing system to maximize yield, align with demand patterns, and support customer satisfaction. Drive aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue growth across concessions, ground transportation, real estate, advertising, and other commercial revenue streams.
Administer contracts and leases, tenant relations, concession development and management, contract/labor compliance, property utilization, and contract negotiations.
