Skills
- Proven experience in utility-scale Solar and BESS estimating and construction practices
- Strong capability in conceptual/parametric, detailed quantity, bid tendering, and change order estimating
- Familiarity with civil, mechanical, electrical scopes including DC/MV cabling, PV racking, and HV/interconnection
- Experience with scheduling concepts and tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with estimating platforms
- Ability to manage solicitations, normalize bids, and provide procurement/contracting recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior management
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual/parametric and progressively detailed capital expenditure (CapEx) estimates for Solar and BESS projects through preconstruction milestones.
- Create master scopes of work and detailed quantity/cost analyses as projects mature.
- Prepare solicitation packages, statements of work, and specification packages for external solicitations; manage EPC/contractor solicitation processes.
- Normalize and evaluate contractor/EPC bid responses against modeled estimates and scopes; provide recommendations for execution strategy.
- Support contract negotiations and contract management with procurement and legal stakeholders.
- Perform constructability reviews, site evaluations, and due diligence including site and environmental study reviews.
- Develop due diligence memos and risk mitigation recommendations for business development and deal teams.
- Maintain internal and external cost databases and track market trends to refine future estimates and forecasting.
- Support procurement in assessment and solicitation of key equipment and materials; confirm equipment specifications and BOM/BOQ for Balance of System scopes.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction production rates, project execution capability, and inform estimating assumptions.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, finance, economics, or construction (required)
