ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.



This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.



POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Supervisor provides essential leadership and oversight for the clinical and non-clinical case management services provided to refugee and immigrant communities at World Relief. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed services that empower clients to achieve self-sufficiency and well-being. The Clinical Supervisor will oversee a team of case managers, providing clinical guidance, training, and administrative supervision to ensure adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and program objectives. This position is crucial in maintaining program integrity, fostering a supportive team environment, and promoting positive client outcomes. 


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees, including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.

Clinical Supervision & Staff Development   
  • Provide regular clinical supervision and mentorship to licensed/unlicensed clinicians, case managers, and interns, fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment.   Support onboarding and training of new staff and interns, ensuring alignment with trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.   Facilitate regular case consultations and professional development opportunities.   
  • Conduct staff trainings on safety assessments, program protocols, documentation standards, and best practices in care coordination.   
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of supervision sessions, training activities, and development plans.   

Care Plan Oversight & Quality Assurance   
  • Review and approve individualized care plans developed by case managers, ensuring they align with program guidelines addressing social determinants of health including both clinical and non-clinical needs.   
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and service delivery.   
  • Leading internal and external utilization review processes to ensure compliance with Department of Healthcare Services rules and regulations.   
  • Adjust strategies as needed to improve outcomes and ensure full compliance with program requirements, including CalAIM and Medi-Cal.   
  • Utilize data and reporting tools to support continuous quality improvement initiatives.   
Program Implementation & Compliance   
  • Lead the implementation and evaluation of integrated behavioral health and wellness programs within a refugee-focused service model.   
  • Ensure all services comply with program policies and updates, MediCal billing guidelines, documentation, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.   
  • Stay informed about relevant policy developments and integrate them into program operations.   
  • Coordinate reporting on outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.   

Client Services & Advocacy   
  • Support the development of individualized care plans addressing the psychosocial, medical, and cultural needs of clients.   
  • Provide direct intervention for high-risk cases or coordinate referrals to appropriate external services.   
  • Coach staff in applying trauma-informed and motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients meaningfully.   
  • Advocate for client access to holistic, comprehensive services across sectors.   

Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Coordination   
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including medical providers, behavioral health specialists, housing navigators, and community organizations.   
  • Promote a coordinated, whole-person care approach that supports client self-sufficiency and long-term wellness.   
  • Participate in systems-level problem-solving and service planning   

Community Engagement & Partnership Development   
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, CBOs, and local agencies to strengthen referral networks.   
  • Represent the organization at coalitions, working groups, and forums related to refugee/immigrant health and wellness. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations. 
  • Knowledge of California’s public health and behavioral health systems, including Medi-Cal managed care systems, and CalAIM initiatives.   
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and team-building abilities.   
  • Proficient in clinical documentation, use of electronic health record (EHR) and other data systems.   
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.   
  • Experience with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and culturally responsive practices.   
  • Experience in crisis intervention and community partnerships.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite   
  • A valid US driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active insurance policy are required. 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-2 years in a supervisory role preferred.   
  • Minimum 2 years unrestricted licensed preferred.  
  • Proficiency in a second language: Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Russian, Ukrainian preferred. 
  • Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment      
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.   
  • Knowledge of social work principles, case management techniques, and integrated delivery system models.   
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize duties, and navigate stressful situations.   
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with external healthcare providers 


$85,000 - $95,000 a year
