We are now hiring a Product Owner focused on Payments to expand and optimize our payment processing solutions that power patient financing, provider billing, and healthcare payment operations.
About the Role:
This role will serve as the dedicated Product Owner for core Payments initiatives, partnering with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineering, and vendor stakeholders. The PO will translate payment strategy into execution by maintaining backlog clarity, ensuring delivery with the scrum team, and providing subject matter knowledge on payments systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as Product Owner for Payments scrum team, overseeing backlog readiness, sprint planning, and delivery execution.
• Partner with Product Managers to refine payment-related epics into actionable backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Engineering to ensure detailed requirements and technical flows are well understood and executed.
• Provide payments-specific knowledge (ACH, card-present and card-not-present, processors like Worldpay, gateways, and surcharging workflows).
• Support vendor management by serving as a backstop for the Senior Product Manager on payment processor and gateway relationships when needed.
• Anticipate delivery risks, manage dependencies, and maintain transparency across concurrent payment workstreams.
• Ensure backlog hygiene, velocity tracking, and alignment across teams for upcoming initiatives
• Drive autonomy within the Payments team by enabling the Senior Product Manager to operate more strategically while POs execute delivery.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or Business Analyst supporting fintech or payments.
• Familiarity with payment systems (ACH, card processing, gateways, processors, surcharging) strongly preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum delivery models and Jira tooling.
• Skilled at backlog management, requirements refinement, and cross-team coordination.
• Ability to operate with autonomy and accountability, especially in a fast-scaling environment.
