The Washington Post is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Product Growth to lead initiatives that drive deeper user adoption and discovery of our most habit-forming features, including Conversations, Games, Alerts, Ask The Post, and other interactive experiences. This role reports to the Director of Product, Content Experience.
The mission of this is about turning casual users into loyal, returning readers by creating sticky, differentiated product touchpoints that reflect the full value of a subscription. You’ll identify growth levers, uncover user motivations, and work cross-functionally to experiment, iterate, and scale impactful product experiences. Your roadmap will range from big bets to quick iterations that continuously remove friction for our users.
This is an ideal role for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of user behavior and growth strategy.
Define and own the growth strategy for high-potential engagement features, including user onboarding, re-engagement loops, and repeat-use incentives.
Drive adoption and habitual use of our core engagement features by identifying growth opportunities, partnering across product areas, and ensuring these experiences are discoverable, compelling, and integrated into the user journey.
Run experiments to validate hypotheses, optimize activation and retention, and identify new opportunities for impact.
Collaborate closely with our growth and brand teams to build experiences that are deeply aligned with our subscription strategies.
Use data and user insights to prioritize the roadmap, define success metrics, and continuously improve product performance.
Champion a test-and-learn mindset, helping establish scalable frameworks for rapid experimentation and iterative improvement.
Balance short-term wins with long-term habit-building, contributing to a portfolio of features that drive durable engagement.
5+ years of product management experience in a consumer-facing digital product.
Demonstrated success driving growth, engagement, or habit formation through iterative experimentation.
Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with data to generate insights, define KPIs, and prioritize decisions.
Familiarity with engagement mechanics (e.g., notifications, gamification, social features) and growth loops.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments, with a strong bias toward action.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in navigating the needs of editorial, design, and engineering partners.

Experience working on a consumer-facing subscription product.
Advanced degree in business, technology, data science or related field.

The salary range for this position is:
$119,700 - $199,300 AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
